About

Hi! Welcome, I’m Allen Bagby, the Oz behind this blog. It’s my strange world where I blog about writing and writing my book, political commentary, religion, culture and entertainment. I’m a mess. Graduated high school, went to work, then to trade school, got a degree in electronics engineering, got married, had a kid in ’87, got divorced, became a moderately successful–sometimes awesome–sales guy in the wireless communication universe, started businesses, made lots of money, and lost lots of money. Career train wrecks and triumphs have been the foreground, but always in the background the desire to write heroic fantasy in the tradition of J. R. R. Tolkien, Terry Goodkind, and David Gemmell has been a constant.

Here’s my top three blog entries so far:

And here is A Sample of my Saga .

Besides 9/11/01 having a deep and significant effect, the other overwhelming experience in my life that year was the beginning of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. When it finished in 2003, I knew what I wanted to do. Four years later I started my first bold but sophomoric efforts toward what would become known to me as the Creed of Kings Saga. I thought it would take 4 or 5 months, well, look at your calendar. It has a Gladiator meets Memoirs of Geisha meets Troy meets Lord of the Rings look and feel. I’ve written two books in the saga, planned another four, but I’ve not published yet. Blood & Soul, the first book in the saga, is nearly done. I want the reader to feel like I did when I saw Lord of the Rings or Gladiator or Indiana Jones or Star Wars. My favorite fantasy author is David Gemmell. If you know him, that’s my goal.

Hi Allen. I was participating on freelancer but it looks like the project “expired.” I don’t know about you but I haven’t been too pleased with them so far. That said, if you are still looking for music feel free to get in touch.

I was lucky enough to find a composer. But, I agree, the overall experience was not good with Freelancer itself. I had multiple issues trying to talk with people. Furthermore, I posted a project for artwork for a book cover and the results were aweful. Musicians, however, were awesome. It was a very very difficult process due to so much extraordinary talent. I’ve heard elance.com is better than Freelancer. I’ve not tried it yet. Best of luck you, Ben.
